We caught up with Hannah, owner and creator of one of Wandsworth’s most beloved coffee and brunch destinations – Little Frenchies.
Tell us who you are and what you do.
I am Hannah and I’m the owner of Frenchies.
How did Frenchies come about?
It stems from my love of brunch, interior design, and French bulldogs, combined. Our logo is my Frenchie, Mr Clive.
Frenchies started as a lockdown project and we even opened in the middle of the pandemic, but thankfully, it paid off and the fantastic locals have supported us throughout.
What can people expect at Little Frenchies on Old York Road?
A very friendly service, the team are all super lovely. We serve delicious coffee, tasty brunch, and now bubbles and wine. You can even treat your pooch to a puppuccino! It doesn’t get much more dog-friendly than Little Frenchies.
We’re a small cafĂ© so seating is limited indoors, but when spring and summer come round, we have lots of lovely outdoor seating available. We love seeing everyone outside having a great time and soaking up the sunshine; it gives Old York Road a real buzz!
What’s your favourite coffee?
I personally don’t drink coffee; I don’t like the taste! But I’ve been reliably informed that our Caravan daily blend is delicious. Our flat white is by far our best seller.
What dish on your menu is the most popular?
Brunch staples like our Full Frenchie and Eggs Benedict are super popular, and our Breakfast Burrito is a strong contender during the summer months.
What’s your favourite thing about Wandsworth Town?
I love the great community spirit. Everyone likes to get involved and has a willingness and desire to promote our community and make it a prosperous, safe and happy space. Local businesses help and support each other in any way they can, and ultimately, we wouldn’t be here if wasn’t for the local residents supporting us, day in, day out. We wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
