Wandsworth Town Business Improvement District (BID) is bringing a brand-new digital town centre hub – called We Are Wandsworth Town – to the heart of the community to bring local businesses, residents and visitors closer together.
The hub, powered by Loqiva, will support businesses across Wandsworth Town by delivering a digital platform to promote offers, products, discounts, and more, connecting with the 300,000+ residents who call Wandsworth home.
The We Are Wandsworth Town app is available to download now and will connect people with local businesses, allowing them to browse what Wandsworth Town has to offer as well as take advantage of special offers.
Businesses will be able to use the app to boost their profile and drive footfall, while also connecting directly with their customer base to reward loyalty, promote events, and share updates.
The data compiled by We Are Wandsworth Town will enable the BID to gather important information on footfall and economic activity in the town centre, which can then be used to target and support specific areas and drive engagement.
“We wanted to create a digital service that would bring people and business together in the heart of Wandsworth Town,” said Lauren Furey, Marketing Manager at Wandsworth Town BID.
“We Are Wandsworth Town will create a new level of connectivity by enabling businesses to engage directly with existing customers and attract new customers. We recognise that Wandsworth Town has so much to offer, for people of all ages, and so we wanted to deliver an initiative that would highlight that, while also promoting our neighbourhood as a great place to live, work and play.”
James Mbanefo, Manager of Wandsworth Town BID, adds, “In our current Business Plan we committed to delivering a ‘buy local’ scheme that would encourage people to spend within their local economy, and we also promised to deliver tools to empower businesses to make strategic decisions. We Are Wandsworth Town delivers on that commitment, and we’re excited to bring it to life for the community.”
Marcus Chidgey, Director and Co-Founder of Loqiva, said: “It’s fantastic to be able to launch Loqiva technology in what is such an exciting and upcoming area in London. Wandsworth is a young and dynamic location and the BID’s decision to implement our technology shows their understanding of exactly the type of tools that their ambitious levy payers require, and how to engage with their community.”
Wandsworth Town BID is a not-for-profit partnership voted in by local businesses to improve the town centre and drive footfall in the area. The BID, which started in 2014, is currently in its second term, and you can view their 2022-2027 Business Plan online.
