Legal & General has completed New Acres in Wandsworth Town, delivering one of the UK’s largest build-to-rent (BTR) developments.
The site on Swandon Way delivers 1,034 new homes for Wandsworth, with 35% earmarked for affordable housing.
The new development seeks to foster a vibrant community for its residents by activating more than 50,000 sq. ft of commercial space.
A carefully considered line up of independent retailer is being selected to help drive footfall alongside a brand-new co-working space, creative makers studio, and a weekly market. L&G is providing independent brands with their first year rent-free as part of their ‘Future Places’ mission to promote entrepreneurship.
Phil Catcheside, residential sector lead, Hawkins\Brown, said: “We are very proud to have helped Legal & General Investment Management design and deliver one of their largest Build to Rent led mixed use, mixed tenure developments, which delivers over 1,000 homes, in an exciting new urban quarter for Wandsworth Town. We envisaged a family of buildings, each with similar characteristics but each with its own individual identity.”
New Acres offers stylish 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments with a range of amenities included in the rent, like a biodiverse roof terrace, a 25m heated lido, state-of-the-art gym, light workspaces, bike parking, residents’ events, and more.
