Well, what a day it was!
Old York Road Unplugged returned to Wandsworth Town on Sunday 4 June, bringing glorious sunshine with it.
The main stage was hosted by our very own Riverside Radio who brought us live performances from Xander, Eye Cue, Double Bass Dan, Cormac Todd, Zemphy, and a dancefloor-filler set from DJ Lyds!
Over on Think Event’s acoustic stage we were treated to the lyrical stylings of Aimee Thompson, Ellie Harris, Rosa Trivett, Will Purdue, and Rosie Smith.
Elsewhere local businesses, The Alma, Konnigans, Viet Town and Pad Thai Story, were able to soak up the action and showcase what makes Old York Road a destination in Wandsworth.
Street food came to us via Urban Food Fest who made sure their delicious options complimented the menus already available on Old York Road. Visitors and locals particularly enjoyed the addition of souvlaki and fried chicken burgers, not to mention the incredible baked goods on offer.
Merged with the street food offerings was a fantastic makers market of original and bespoke products, including fashion, homeware, candles, pet products, and children’s toys.
Speaking of children; there were big smiles all round as little ones took to the teacups, bumper cars, and the bungees!
We also had two Bose noise-cancelling headphones to give away in our prize raffle, with two lucky winners walking away with the quality headgear.
Deputy Mayor of Wandsworth Sana Jafri also joined us for the festivities, giving a speech to the crowds on the main stage in which she celebrated our diverse and creative community.
We would like to thank everyone who came along to Old York Road Unplugged and made the day so special.
