Tell us who you are and what you do.
I’m Paul Bassett, head coach and owner of Hounds of Health. I’ve spent the last eight years guiding people towards improved fitness and overall health. In 2016 I founded Hounds of Health to support individuals to take charge of their wellbeing and create a sustainable lifestyle.
We are a team of experienced coaches who specialise in change. Our clients are typically busy people with demanding careers, families, and vibrant social lives, which often leads them to neglect their health. At Hounds of Health, we focus on providing personalised solutions to help you achieve long-term success in your health and fitness goals. Through unwavering support and personalised strategies we’ve witnessed countless transformations, empowering people to prioritise their wellbeing and enjoy a more fulfilling life.
Our commitment to excellence and genuine care drives our decisions. We know some clients doubt their ability to succeed, but we know they can, and we support them, advise them, and give them the back-up they need.
How did Hounds of Health come about?
Hounds of Health came into existence during a profound phase of my own personal health journey. My career working in artist management and touring in the music industry had taken a toll my wellbeing; I found myself entangled in an unhealthy lifestyle. At one point I weighed close to 120kg, but through dedication and perseverance I managed to reclaim my health and reach a healthier weight of 85kg.
The turning point came when I experienced a frightening incident in Manchester. After collapsing and being surrounded by paramedics I realised that I had to make a change, but I wasn’t sure where to start. This sparked a transformative journey that led me down various paths and revealed eye-opening experiences that fundamentally altered my life for the better.
Throughout this voyage I’ve stumbled and made my fair share of mistakes, but it means I’ve gained valuable insight into what does and doesn’t work when it comes to achieving and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Hounds of Health was born out of a desire to serve people like myself – busy people who have met numerous dead ends in their pursuit of wellness.
I understand the challenges that come with busy schedules and the frustration of encountering ineffective methods, and so with Hounds of Health, my aim is to provide guidance and support to those seeking a sustainable and effective approach to improving their wellbeing.
Together, we can leave behind the struggles of the past and navigate this journey towards lasting health and wellbeing.
How do you support people towards a more active and healthy lifestyle?
The foundation of our approach always begins with a meaningful conversation. It is vital to determine that our expertise aligns with your needs, as our focus lies in providing specialised support. I take pride in asking you lots of questions because it means, when we work together, I can truly understand you.
