We caught up with James at Scratch to find out more.
Tell us who you are and what you do.
I’m James, one of the founders of Scratch Golf.
Scratch offers the latest golf simulator technology in a private luxury environment for members, giving you the experience of being on a pro course with the comfort of feeling like you’re in your own living room.
Our intuitive system is state-of-the-art, but we also offer free introductory sessions to help you get started.
You’re invited to get in some private practise time or you can play with friends. We have premium golf clubs, sofas and a well-stocked fridge.

How did Scratch Golf come about?
We’re three friends with varying golf experience. One of us is a good golfer, one think he is, and one isn’t so good but he’s catching up fast – that’s me. We all agreed that golf is loads of fun and massively addictive, but there was a major issue for golf enthusiasts in London – weather and time; Londoners don’t have either.
Scratch is ideal if you’re working from home and want to squeeze in some practise, or you want to drop in before or after work. You can even play with friends, and it doesn’t rely on the six weeks of the year we get reliably sunny weather.
The simulator is a gamechanger when it comes to practise. It produces key stats on every single shot, so, if you’re like me and you frequently mis-hitting, it will show you why that’s happening. You can see your shots visibly improve as you progress.
What experiences does Scratch offer?
You can practise on a driving range, hit some target practise, or take a deep dive into each of your clubs with shot analysis. Enter into an 18-hole round of golf with the full range of courses that Trackman software offers, including world famous courses such as St. Andrews and Troon. Or my personal favourite is playing the games with friends, of which there’s loads to choose from.
We also offer coaching from our resident professional Robert Dinwiddie, who previously competed at the British and US open. It’s a great way to quickly improve your game and learn what to focus your attention on in your practise.
Who can play?
We have members of all levels so it really is open to all. Pro golfers, advanced, intermediate, and novices, like me, all use it.

We use Trackman IO which is the latest tech from Trackman who are the best in the business and we couple this with a cinema level quality projector.
Are you running any special offers at the moment?

What’s your favourite thing about Wandsworth Town?
I’d say it’s two things: firstly, it’s that Wandsworth has everything you need in one place, there are so many fun activities, shops and restaurants.
Secondly, there’s such a sense of community and friendliness. We’ve only just opened Scratch and if I’m having a coffee nearby already members come up and say hello. Maybe it’s because there’s so much to do right here that it creates that community vibe.
