Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do.
I’m Rebecca and at SuperDog Training Academy our main goal is to help dogs and their owners live better lives together. We’re all about positive reinforcement training, which means we focus on teaching dogs in a friendly and enjoyable way.
We offer group training classes and private lessons for new owners, or dogs that need a more tailored training plan. We aren’t just about training; we also help our clients provide their dogs with a well-rounded and fulfilling life. This includes tips on enriching their daily routines, making walks more enjoyable, and ensuring they’re mentally and physically stimulated.
In a nutshell, we’re here to make your life with your dog happier and more enjoyable.
How did SuperDog Training Academy come about?
Miranda and I met at university, and it didn’t take long for us to realise that we shared a love of dogs. As the years rolled by, our individual journeys with dogs took interesting paths. I found myself drawn to the world of rescue dogs, dedicating time to helping these pups find their forever homes, while also delving into the intricacies of their rehabilitation and training. Miranda, on the other hand, ventured into the realm of dog boarding and walking. Her passion extended to working with gun dogs, adding a unique dimension to her experience in the canine world.
Then, the lightbulb moment came! With our combined expertise and a shared vision, we decided to join forces and bring SuperDog Training Academy to life. It was our way of pooling together our knowledge, experiences, and love for dogs. SuperDog Training Academy became the platform where we could share our passion with the world, helping dog owners build strong bonds with their pets, and ensuring that dogs could lead happier, healthier lives.
What classes do you offer in Wandsworth
In Wandsworth, we provide a range of tailored services to meet your dog’s needs.
Our small group classes, with a maximum of four dogs per class, are designed for dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors. Additionally, we offer a personalized 1-2-1 program where we visit your home to work directly with you and your dog.
We understand that early guidance is crucial, so we’re here to assist even before your puppy arrives. For older dogs, we specialise in addressing issues such as barking, resource guarding, and reactivity. Whatever your dog’s stage in life, we’re here to ensure they thrive and build a strong bond with their human companions.
Can even the most mischievous of pups be trained?
Certainly! All puppies, just like small children, have a natural tendency to be mischievous, and it’s actually a part of how they learn about the world around them. However often puppies are over excited and tear around the house nipping their owners if they aren’t getting enough sleep!
That’s why we take a holistic approach to training and also look at the puppy’s routine. Puppies require a lot more sleep than people might realise, and ensuring they have a well-structured routine that includes sufficient rest is a key part of our training philosophy.
We specialise in positive reinforcement techniques that make learning a fun and rewarding experience for even the most spirited and active pups. So, whether your new family member is a little troublemaker or just full of energy, we’re up for the challenge, and we’ve got the know-how to help them learn, thrive, and get the rest they need.
