Tell us who you are and what you do.
I am Andre and I’m the owner and founder of Top Taste Caribbean restaurant in Wandsworth Town.
I was born in Jamaica and moved to the UK when I was six. I learned my entrepreneurial skills from my dad, who has always worked for himself.
How did Top Taste come about?
Top Taste was founded in 2013 as a result of the positive response we got from catering events; people loved the food. So, I wanted to bring that quality to a wider audience on a regular basis. It felt like the right time to create something permanent and share the flavours of Jamaica with the community.
What’s your most popular dish?
Our most popular menu item has to be our tantalising jerk chicken, with rice and peas. People also love our mac and cheese.

What’s your favourite thing about Wandsworth Town?
I love how diverse and multicultural Wandsworth Town is. The people are very friendly and kind, and I want to contribute and share my Caribbean heritage with all those who come to the area.
