WT Library shortlisted for Library of the Year 2025

Wandsworth Town Library has been shortlisted as a finalist in The Bookseller’s British Book Awards 2025 for Library of the Year.

The award is sponsored by publisher DK and run in association with the Reading Agency. It recognises individual libraries and work done across library districts.

“I am absolutely delighted by the number, strength and depth of the entries in the first year we have taken a regional approach to The Library of the Year award.

“These are libraries busting a gut to put reading at the heart of what they do, and, as a consequence, improve the lives of their patrons. Focused on local people in everyday locations, highlighting the innovative work done in 2024 is vital and a real pleasure.”

– Philip Jones, editor at The Bookseller and chair of the judges for The British Book Awards

The winner from each region will be announced on 12 March, with the overall prize announced at The British Book Awards ceremony on Monday 12 May.

Wandsworth Town Library moved to its current location, on Courthouse Way, in November 2023, and boasts more than 40,000 books, ranging from beloved classics to modern masterpieces. Members can also borrow audiobooks, e-books, and DVDs, as well as browse the internet, print and photocopy, and book meeting and co-working space.
